Advanced Forestry Systems - Hydrologic Data Analyst

This company in Seattle, WA is seeking for their Advanced Forestry Systems (AFS) group is seeking a temporary Hydrologic Data Analyst for the Next Generation Water Mapping Project.The successful candidate will work with AFS remote sensing scientists to generate stream network and wet area mapping products using LiDAR data. The selected candidate will be responsible for sitting and using repetitive hand-wrist motion for GIS data editing and analysis. Analyzing data from remote sensing technologies.Generate Stream Networks using LiDAR data and proprietary algorithms. Building and running scripts for remote sensing data QA/QC and processing. Maintaining cloud-based data archive to ensure high quality and security.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a BS in Forestry, Hydrology, Geology, GIS, Environmental Science or similar. Knowledge of remote sensing-GIS tools/software: ArcGIS, QGIS, R, Python. Knowledge of soils and hydrology concept. Ability to work safely and support a culture of workplace safety. Preferred skills: Great attention to detail and can work independently. Knowledge of statistics and spatial analysis. Proficient in ESRI products, MS Office suite. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment. Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills. High level of initiative and motivation. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
