Vehicle and Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager

Washington, Skagit / island / SJI 00000 Skagit / island / SJI USA

Vacancy expired!

Do you love the smell of diesel in the morning?

Are you happiest when you're elbow deep in the engine of a working M4A1 Sherman Tank?

Does the thought of fixing the treads on a 8-Ton Half-Track Sd. Kfz. 7 make you giddy?

Do you have experience managing a team?

Believe that "No Manual" means "No Problem"?

We're hiring for a Vehicle and Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager for the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum in Everett, WA.

This hands-on people manager will:

Oversee a small team of maintenance pros

Manage the maintenance program of the onsite assets, such as our collection of tanks and heavy machinery and restoration projects

Complete annual inspections of assets and equipment to ensure they are working and are ready for special events and shows

We are looking for someone with strong mechanical problem solving skills, since many of the assets this hands-on people manager will maintain do not come with owner's manuals. If this is you, you will need to be a strategic thinker and be willing to help out anywhere you are needed and to make sure our equipment is "Ready to Go. Ready to Roll" at a moment's notice.

The Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum facility is located at the southeast corner of Paine Field in Everett, Wash. FHCAM is a rare private collection of WWII era aircraft, tanks, combat armor and other technologies, painstakingly restored to working condition and displayed alongside interactive multimedia exhibits like Why War: The Causes of Conflict. Attendees often find FHCAM mechanics, such as yourself, working on restoration and maintenance of our assets as they explore the museum, providing a unique opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the process of bringing historic technology back to life. FHCAM is more than a passive display of vintage machines, it allows attendees to hear, smell, feel and watch history come to life at museum events hosted throughout the year and your team will be on the frontline of this program.
