New Leaf is currently hiring for a Vocational Services Specialist.

The ideal candidate will display a passion for assisting people with disabilities by providing vocational services and on-the-job training services to assist in developing skills for continued employment. The candidate will be required to motivate employees through positive training and by providing vocational services to assist employees in their work environment. In cooperation with project managers, supervisors and leads, you'll work with employees to develop an individualized plan for employees to achieve employment goals.

Location: Oak Harbor, WA

Pay: Dependent on Experience

Schedule: Full Time Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm and occasional nights on rotating schedule.

Requirements

 High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum three years vocational rehabilitation/job coaching preferred.

 Be knowledgeable of, and work within, applicable federal, state, and city regulations, laws, codes and rules, and established company policies, procedures, and philosophies.

 Strong knowledge of worker’s compensation program administration and reporting services.

 Be able to train, work alongside of, and support adults with a wide range of disabilities, displaying patience and compassion.

 Have expert-level verbal and written communication skills and be able to write and maintain on-site job procedure documentation in formats needed by our employees.

 Be punctual, dependable, ethical, self-motivated and have strict standards for confidentiality, ensuring legal compliance.

 Communicate effectively across multiple disciplines within the company and with customers.

 Have strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.

 Have excellent time-management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

 Must pay close attention to detail.

 Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

 Must be able to pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

This position is responsible for vocational support and training of adults with (and without) disabilities. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing administrative support (through a variety of tasks and projects) to the Human Resources and Vocational Services department and other management staff.

 Works with a variety of people in a team-oriented environment.

 Works on the jobsite(s) alongside employees with disabilities and provides one-on-one (and small group) training for various jobs and for a variety of departments such as: janitorial, galley, shelf-stocking, grounds, etc. and documents training. Training/coaching includes working on skills for specific tasks and it may also include working on interpersonal skills required in the workplace.

 Assists new employees with documentation, getting military base-clearance badge, picking up badges, finding job site, meeting new team, understanding job and on-going training.

 Supports reception position when needed (answering phones, greeting employees and customers).

 Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, data entry, generating reports and maintaining digital filing systems.

 Scans and files a variety of confidential employee information.

 Keeps confidential binders updated.

 Keeps employee narrative files up-to-date with information from various sources.

 Participating in/working on projects in all departments when needed.

 Using excellent written communication skills, creates procedural documents, correspondence, letters, faxes and forms.

 Creates and maintain Excel spreadsheets with accuracy.

 Works proficiently in a variety of software such as; Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Elements.
