OpenEye, a leader in cloud enabled digital video management solutions, is seeking a full-time Accountant. This position will report to the CFO and will be responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports. This position assists with timely and accurate closes, budgets, and forecasts. The Accountant determines financial metrics and goals for the various divisions of the company, analyzes and reports budget variances, and maintains general ledger and related systems. The Accountant will management reports, coordinates and monitors budgets, ensures financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and develops/monitors internal control mechanisms that safeguard resources.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides direct financial support to department managers and executive management.

Facilitates the monthly closing process and assists others when required; ensures all journal entries and reconciliations are correct; analyzes and explains actual EBITDA results vs. budget and forecast.

Assist with the year-end closing process and coordinates the year-end activities with our outside accountants, including the annual review, 401(k) audit, and income and sales tax returns.

Develops systems and monitors compliance with the various external agreements.

Maintains strict confidentiality.

Ensures information systems capture financial information required by third parties such as banks, insurance carriers, and various governmental agencies.

Establishes and monitors internal controls of assets/resources, including developing and writing financial policies and procedures.

Directs cost center accounting, budgeting and special projects. Assists with the annual budgeting and forecasting process for all departments; develops budget instructions; assists managers with budget preparation; ensures adherence to published timetables; gathers required operational assumptions; reconciles resulting budgets with strategic plan profitability targets; communicates and explains changes in budgets and forecasts to senior and executive management.

Ensures accurate publishing of KPI's (Key Performance Indicators).

Oversees operating, capital and cash flow budgets and assists CFO in exercising control to ensure expenditures do not exceed budgetary limits and are in compliance with all related agreements.

Reviews proposed contracts for financial impact and risk factors. Audits contracts, orders and vouchers before processing.

Monitors balance sheet and net working capital performance.

Processes monthly payroll.

Ensures proper receiving, disposition, and disbursing of all cost center funds and manages cash flow.

Identifies and implements process improvements to increase department efficiency.

Keeps current on changes in the legal and regulatory environment and strives to continually acquire new knowledge and skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field

a minimum of five (5) years' experience in financial management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

previous experience in a technical or manufacturing environment

a Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field

CPA or CMA

Experience with Excel, Sage 100 ERP and iSolved payroll or similar systems
