Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County is hiring!
We are currently seeking energetic, creative, hardworking, caring candidates for our Youth Development positions (YDP's) at all three Club sites.
Since 2001, Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County has offered thousands of kids ages 6-18 with a safe, inclusive and positive place to drop-in after school and throughout the summer. Professionally trained staff at our Clubhouses oversee engaging programs and activities that help kids and teens achieve academic success, develop good character and citizenship while encouraging healthy and active lifestyles. Our Club services currently include daytime distance learning support and after school activities.
Our Youth Development Professionals provide a positive atmosphere for member interaction while developing and implementing activities/services provided by supervisors that provide academic support and enrichment, social connectedness and/or recreational programs. YDP’s serve as positive adult role models, can conjure up an activity on the fly and adapt as their group needs. YDPs should have experience in one or more of the Club program targeted areas, such as health and fitness, the arts, STEM, and education support, and be willing to participate regularly in professional growth activities. A YDP candidate must be able to supervise youth members effectively and in a positive way, providing motivation and implementing behavior management techniques as needed. In order to support our safe Club operations, a YDP must adhere to guidelines for maintaining health and safety for members, staff, and the community.
YDP Candidates must:
be 18 years of age or older and have graduated from high school.
be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain
have experience working with youth
be committed to being part of an environment that supports positive youth engagement and supportive relationships, recognizing youth for their accomplishments, and providing fun, high quality activities.
