POSTION SUMMARY:
Identifies needs, plans, and implements family education programs focused on parents, caregivers, and child. Conducts home visits and partners with parents and other caregivers to engage in activities that enhance parenting practice to increase understanding of positive parenting, child development, readiness for school, school success, family wellness, and wellbeing. Position requires ability to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekend activities. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participates in development, planning and scheduling around adult, child and youth family support initiatives
Provides regular scheduled home visits to support healthy child development and positive parenting and use evidence based curriculums.
Conducts developmental screening and assessments of children and home environment assessments making referrals as necessary
Educates parents and other caregivers according to childs developmental needs and program standards
Maintains complete confidential records on children and family in accordance with program, best practice or fidelity requirements
Responsible for collecting and maintaining program records, statistics and reports for contract and grant-funded activities
Advocates for the values of a diverse population within CHSW and the Community
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
Able to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends
Knowledge and practice of family support principles and child development and early childhood education principles
Excellent relationship building skills with emphasis on family and community organizations
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively especially with culturally and socio-economically diverse populations
Able to work independently; organize and prioritize tasks responsibly
A valid Washington State drivers license and reliable transportation
Proficient Microsoft Word and Outlook
