Payroll/ HR Specialist
Express Employment has teamed up with a wonderful Spokane based business, and we are in immediate need of a Payroll/HR Specialist. This is a great opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual. The ideal candidate has up to date knowledge using the newest online version on QuickBooks.
Job Duties:
Audit and reconcile wide range of personnel actions and payroll documents.
Process employee data (new hires, changes, and additional earnings).
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports. Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
Develop in-depth understanding of payroll database to create ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
Assist with all of the activities of the Human Resources office, including typing, record-keeping, and handling routine correspondence.
Answer basic questions about employee benefits, health plans, and pension plans.
Ensure that all personnel policies are constantly being checked, updated, and communicated to all managers within the company.
Conduct orientation for new employees.
Schedule appointments for employees to review their personnel files.
File records of all progressive discipline action in accordance with company policy.
Prepare separation documents and inform all terminated employees of their COBRA rights.
Screen all reference calls concerning former employees.
Required Experience/Knowledge :
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
QuickBooks Guru
Keep informed of current Fair Labor Standards Act, COBRA, and federal and state province reporting and record-keeping requirements concerning compensation, health and safety.
