Seeking an experienced, hard-working, and dedicated stable hand for a full-time, live-in position.

If you are responsible and reliable, have a good attitude and a willingness to work, and have experience with horses, we are looking for you. The ideal candidate will be concerned primarily with providing the best in care for the horses, and dedicated to the health, education, and safety, of both horses and riders. Great communication skills are necessary as you will often act as liaison between boarders and management and reporting directly to barn management regarding day-to-day horse care and barn operations.

POSITION: This position requires working 5 days/week, with flexibility as necessary to provide evening and weekend coverage. The majority of the routine daily work entails feeding & care; cleaning stalls, runs, and pens; watering/dragging arenas, and regular barn and grounds chores. Compensation: Salary dependent upon experience. A furnished apartment and board for one horse may be included as part of the compensation.

REQUIREMENTS: Horse knowledge and experience handling horses is REQUIRED. Must be able to routinely lift 75+ lbs. Must be willing to work outside in any/all weather conditions. Ability and knowledge to monitor and identify problems in horses, including injuries, lameness, colic, colds, changes in eating habits or other behaviors, etc. Ability to administer first aid/treatment of minor illness or injury a plus. Applicants over 21 years preferred, but must be at least age 18. High School diploma or equivalent. Must have reliable transportation.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate understands that horses deserve kindness; is reliable, punctual, conscientious, organized, and detailed; completes tasks on time; maintains a positive professional attitude at all times with co-workers and the public; and is able to take and follow direction from management regarding all aspects of horse care.
