Excelsior Holistic Schools, located on the Excelsior Wellness Campus, is looking for a Certified Peer Support Specialists to work in our education environment. Qualitied candidates that have significant experience in Athletics, Culinary or hairdressing/barber trade are encouraged to apply.WHO WE ARE: Excelsior Wellness Center is a private non-profit integrated healthcare and education organization. For over 30 years we have provided specialty education, healthcare and innovative co-occurring behavioral health services to children, adolescents, young adults and their families. Education, behavioral health, primary care, and recreation services are integrated to provide holistic and comprehensive services to those we servePOSITION SUMMARY: The Peer Support functions as an integral part of the treatment and education team. This position exhibits competency in personal recovery and serves as a role model to clients enrolled in education services. This specific role will provide additional learning opportunities for clients in an identified field of athletics, culinary or hairdressing/barber.QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.Has completed, or has the ability to complete, specialized training provided or contracted by Washington State Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery in becoming a Certified Family Support Specialist.Candidates with proven experience in Athletics, Culinary or Hairdressing/Barber preferredAbility to be registered with the Washington State Department of Health as a counselor.Minimum one year experiencing working and/or volunteering directly with youth.Ability to work with a diverse population of staff and clients.Ability to calmly and repetitively model appropriate behaviors.Ability to work in a fast paced environment and make ethical and safe decisions.Ability to manage individual stress and perform essential job functions in a safe and professional manner.Ability to use the senses of sight and hearing to effectively and safely supervise clients.Must be able to pass a criminal background check clearance.Must be 21 years or older.Must have a valid driver’s license.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Participates as a member of the treatment and education team providing outreach, engagement and support of on-going services to enrolled clients.Utilizes personal experiences of recovery to provide families guidance and support in their own recovery.Provides educational programs in identified area of experience/expertise (Athletics or Culinary or Hairdresser/barber)Facilitates scheduled activities and provides appropriate supervision.BENEFITS: Health Care: AetnaDental Care: Delta DentalVision: VSPHealth care benefits require 30-60 day wait period from date of hire.Vacation Hours: 56 hours annuallySick time: 8 hours per monthSick/Vacation accrual require 30-60 day wait period from date of hire.Life Insurance: Met Life (employer sponsored $25,000 policy)Supplemental Life: Met LifeAflac supplemental insurance for cancer, accident, disability, hospital, etc.Employer pays employees portion of L&I taxes.Flexible spending plan for medical and dependent care.EAP (Employee Assistance Program) that is designed to help Excelsior employees privately solve problems that may interfere with your work, family and life in general.
