Wage: $25.00 to $120.00+ /hour + benefits. Average $35-80/hr

The Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) Role-playing Game Master (GM) (CTRSGM) will run regular role-playing game sessions with clients, at various client locations.

Typically in educational and therapeutic settings, but may also include other settings that have populations with special needs requirements. If wished, for additional hours, the candidate may optionally select inclusion with our diversionary recreation programs as well, including RPG Professionals, RPG Parties, etc.

The CTRSGM must already have extensive training in line with our programs, game master code of conduct, player code of conduct, and our methodologies. Those lacking this training may consider volunteering at another organization, RPG Research, a non-profit 501(c)3 research & community services organization that can provide free training that is inline with our requirements. http://www.rpgresearch.com

The RPG Therapeutics LLC CTRSGM will typically need to teach new players how to play the applicable role-playing games.

Our client demand is absolutely outstripping our capacity. We need more qualified certified therapeutic recreation specialists that are also well trained in tabletop, electronic, and live-action role-playing gaming as game masters.

  • We work with a wide range of special needs populations in therapeutic, recreational, and educational settings from 2 years old through senior adults.
  • Our programs are heavily based on NCTRC Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) standards.
  • There are a lot of requirements employee candidates must meet for this distinctive and rewarding position, so please pay careful attention to the details.

This means only 0-5 hours per week (no guaranteed hours, but generally we will only hire you if you can begin working at least 4 hours per week). This can work for people who want to transition more carefully.

This probationary period can be waved for applicants that have received a training diploma as a Game Master, from RPG Research.

Probationary period is minimum 90 days, at the end of which, if your review numbers are favorable, you will gradually be provided opportunities to increase your hours up to 40 hours per week over time, depending on how well your skills and areas of focus fit various client demands. This probationary period may be waved for RPG Research diploma graduates, or RPG Therapeutics LLC certified GMs.

Different populations ranging from ages 5-17, 18-65, 65+, or special needs populations, educational settings, or therapeutic settings.

MAXIMUM HOURS: Up to 40 hours per week maximum. Potential to be promoted to full time based on employee qualifications, performance reviews over time (typically every 6 months), client contracts, and matching client needs.

PAYMENT FREQUENCY: Initially once per month on the 5th of each month. Later twice per month.

WAGE: $25-$120+ per hour based on experience, certifications, performance evaluations, and client contract agreements.
