Fabricators for permanent work in a fabrication shop!
This is a temp-to-perm position with long-term permanent work.
Please do not respond if you do not have fabrication experience on a wide variety of items or have more production based experience. This is a "Job Shop" with a wide variety of work, working on and off of print, and a creative work environment.
Responsible for laying out, welding and fabricating metal assemblies through the safe and effective use of welding and fabricating machines, techniques, and practices to complete company orders on time with precision and quality.
The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Read and interpret blueprints, specs and instructions
Layout jobs according to blueprints
Weld complex projects utilizing MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques on various materials (aluminum, carbon steel, stainless
Follow safety protocols and standards in creating a quality product
Inspect work / product for accuracy
Perform all needed set-up and lay-out of equipment and jobs (using clamps, fixtures, etc)
Check parts to drawings and specs using tooling and gauges (calipers and micrometers) as needed
Run manual brake press, saws, presses as needed
Fabricate assemblies from prints
Follow safety protocols and standards in daily activities
Inspect work / product for accuracy and ensure industry standards are met upon completion
Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements by working with co-workers to accomplish daily tasks
Communicate with supervisor and other team members to accomplish company standards and goals
Perform spot inspections of parts
Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures
Complete and maintain paperwork
Check equipment for defects and repair if necessary
Ensure equipment is calibrated and cleaned
Work as a cooperative team member in the organization
Works quickly and responsibly to complete all production responsibilities on time and on budget
Other duties as assigned based on project needs and organizational efficiencies
Must have the following:
High school diploma or a General Education degree required
Minimum of 2 years’ experience running brake press and shears or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience reading blueprints and drawings and utilizing measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers)
Must have 3 years’ experience in TIG, MIG, SMAW, & Heli-Arc welding and fabrication experience
Must be highly skilled at reading blueprints, must pass math test, willing and able to work in fast-paced environment
Demonstrate proficiency in your trade
Highly experienced working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Experience with cutting torch and plasma burning
Certified in welding preferred, but not required
Employee must be able to weld with little to no supervision
Ability to work with tight tolerances
Strong verbal communication skills are essential
Ability to troubleshoot to make the best use of time and equipment to complete tasks
Willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed
Pay: $18-$26/hour DOE and Skill Level plus $500 Hire on Bonus!
