Payroll Specialist

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Tacoma, Washington. This role is based in the healthcare industry and will focus on managing the company's payroll procedures. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, where your skills and expertise will contribute to the proper handling of employee compensation.Responsibilities: Manage and maintain accurate records of all employee working hours, including overtime, sick leaves, vacations, and others. Operate and utilize advanced Excel skills to evaluate payroll information effectively. Ensure timely and accurate payment of all employees. Collaborate with the HR department to uphold firm policies and assist with audits. Resolve payroll-related queries or issues under strict deadlines. Stay updated with laws that could affect payroll, including tax regulations and benefit rules. Keep abreast of developments in UKG tools and advanced excel capabilities that could improve processes. Operate the UKG system for payroll procedures, ensuring precision and confidentiality. Prepare and deliver reports on payroll figures to upper management. Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services Familiarity with Ceridian payroll software Ability to operate IBM AS/400 system Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration Knowledge of About Time software Proficient in Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
