Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: NoneJob Family: Project/Task ManagementGDIT is looking to hire several Project Managers for an upcoming program for the Veteran’s Affairs (VA), Franchise Fund Support Services (FFSS). These various positions are in Austin, TX, Hines, IL, Philadelphia, PA, Falling Waters, WV, and potentially some virtual positions.FFSS provides the mission critical technical solutions including Data Center Operations, Systems Administration, Cloud Architecture, Virtualization, Systems Security, Systems Architecture, Enterprise Applications, Network Engineering, among others. These technology and platform solutions enable FFSS to provide consistent availability of specialized internal and external facing applications, to provide critical and timely services in support of our veterans. This includes Health, Benefits and Memorial Services, Corporate Services and more.What You’ll Be Doing:The scope of projects can include Information technology infrastructure, applications, telecommunications, security, and process improvement projects.

Manage assigned tasks to completion within the schedule, budget, and scope of the individual project; ensure objectives of the projects are achieved

Develop formal project charters as required by the VA Program Managers

Facilitate project kick-off and status meetings and communicate individual roles and project expectations

Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, and Work Breakdown Structure

Identify risks associated with the cost, resource, schedule, and technical aspects of the project, and ensure they are assessed, documented, tracked, and mitigated

Escalate issues that impact the project and require management decisions

Effectively manage deviations from the project plan, and implement changes as necessary to ensure project remains within scope, timelines, budget, and quality objectives; all variances tracked must be accessible by the VA Resources Lead for review and approval

Identify artifacts needed to establish and maintain control of the project. Create and utilize those artifacts mandated by VA and ITOPS IO standards.

Brief senior management on project management activities a recurring basis

Conduct formal project reviews with project sponsor at project completion and review all deliverables to confirm acceptance and satisfaction

What You’ll Need (specific requirements may vary based on level of position):Bachelor’s degree

5+ years of IT project management experience

What Would Be Even Better (preferred):PMP certification, preferred

Experience supporting Veterans Affairs or DoD programs, preferred
