- Contribute to cross-functional development teams to deliver innovative laser products.
- Lead and execute process and tooling development and improvement projects from conception to completion.
- Support transition of new products from prototype to volume production using DFSS DFA, and DFM.
- Evaluate, procure, and qualify new manufacturing and diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Identify and evaluate external advancements, enabling development of custom tools and processes and qualifying them into production.
- Support new and released products and processes via problem solving, documentation, and training of personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement opportunities and increase yield metrics using a variety of analytical techniques (SPC, DOE, Gauge R&R) and lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods.
- Direct activities of engineering technicians.
- Master’s degree in engineering (Optical, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Physics) or exceptional industrial experience in closely related technologies.
- 2+ years of recent experience in process or product development of lasers, systems engineering or related discipline.
- Experience setting up new product lines, and proven track record of transitioning products and processes into volume production
- Hands on working experience with optical fibers, lasers, optics, electronics and precision opto-mechanical systems and tools.
- Strong record of problem solving through structured methodologies and implementing robust processes and systems.
- Situational leadership skills and ability to work with cross functional & multi-site teams effectively.
- Project leadership and systems engineering experience
- Experience with mechanical drawings, basic tooling and fixture design.
- ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt preferred
