Are you a people person? Do you like talking about diverse cybersecurity topics with a global audience? Mandiant Threat Intelligence is looking for a dynamic intelligence practitioner who can help our customers craft meaningful requests for intelligence. In this role, your primary responsibilities are to understand Mandiant Threat Intelligence's areas of coverage/capabilities and help align those with deliverables that our customers will find impactful.

A successful candidate will have some degree of enterprise cybersecurity experience and understand the challenges that operational security teams face. Superb communications skills are absolutely essential. As a senior resource, the candidate will be expected to show a degree of thought leadership and executive action, while also knowing when to defer to subject matter experts in a given area.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with existing intelligence customers to provide education and expertise
  • Help customers craft requests for intelligence that will result in meaningful answers
  • Answer ad-hoc intel questions based on conclusions and judgments derived from a strong understanding of FireEye data sources, tools, and independent research
  • Act as an ambassador for Mandiant Threat Intelligence by exercising strong communication and customer care
  • Provide direction to Mandiant Threat Intelligence analysts regarding scoping and approach of customer requests for intelligence

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in a dedicated intelligence practitioner role; Intel disciplines can vary but must have worked (currently or previously) in a dedicated Intel role to be considered.
  • Direct experience in the consumption, processing, and analysis of tactical (technical) CTI within an operational environment, supporting monitoring, detection, and response capabilities
  • Experience in deploying and analyzing data from technical security controls, to include web proxy, firewalls, IPS, IDS, mail content scanning appliances, enterprise antivirus solutions, network analyzers, and other host-based protection solutions
  • Knowledge of and experience with standard network logging formats, network management systems and network security monitoring systems, security information and event management, network packet analysis tools and forensic analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding and experience related to:
    • Threat Intelligence analysis and experience managing and implementing the threat intelligence lifecycle
    • Common malware variants, functionality, and basics of static and dynamic analysis
    • Common threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures
    • Cyber Attack Lifecycles and Threat Models
    • Experience conducting executive debriefs of deliverables and project outcomes
    • Research best practices and topic analysis
  • An engaging personality supported by an inquisitive, analytical mind
  • Ability toexpress a variety of intelligence concepts verbally, graphically,and in writing for generalist and specialist audiences. Excellent writing and communication skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to workas part of a distributed virtual production team with limited supervisionand under tight deadlines
  • Ability to participate and provide input during crisis situations
  • Self-starterwith great personal initiative
