Catholic Charities is currently looking for a Vocational Employment Specialist.
As a Vocational Employment Specialist you will provide employment and vocational services to adults with serious mental illness and with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. The service to consumers will be to expedite, facilitate, and/or coordinate their total recovery process. Make appropriate referrals to established employers in coordination with the consumers desires, work history and employment goals.
Develop daily living and job interviewing skills for consumers
Work with area employers to establish appropriate referrals for job placement
Meet with community employers to assist with consumer and employer issues
Meet with the PACT Team Leader to report on consumer issues, problems or concerns with area employers and supervision.
Assist in the development of employment program plans, strategies for clients within the program and follows clients while they are employed.
Assure that all vocational endeavors are in line with the guidelines and procedures
Attend all team meetings
Write appropriate documentation of vocational/employment services provided
Works with the PACT Team Leader to update & develop appropriate mission, goals, practices and guidelines, and procedures for the vocational/employment program.
Write appropriate documents, directives and statements relating to employment and/or other issues of concern within the program.
Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources and employers to coordinate patient treatment with clinical staff or other providers and initiate referrals to providers of other community resources when appropriate.
On-call and medication monitoring
Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelors Degree preferred OR Associates Degree
Experience:
1-year experience in coordination of employment and/or vocational services
Special Skills:
Electronic Medical Records skills (EMR)
Good interpersonal skills
Possess and utilize effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to provide service in a culturally competent manner
Ability to be self-motivated, work independently, and as a team member
Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community
Ability to conduct client home visits as needed
Knowledge of team management/supervision
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
Licenses, Registration or Certification:
Registration in the State of Washington as a Counselor required for Masters level licensure is encouraged, but not required
Valid Washington State drivers license and required minimum liability insurance
