Recruitment Description:
The City of Ellensburg has a vacancy for an IT Systems Administrator. This senior level, non-management, position performs independently under the general supervision of the Information Technology & Telecommunications Manager and will analyze, design, implement, and manage the city-wide network. The IT Systems Administrator will monitor strategies, investigate technology trends, forecast resource needs, recommend alternatives and facilitate acquisitions and/or upgrades; design and implement network policies and procedures; ascertain hardware and software needs of departments and coordinate information technology related purchases. This position will assist in developing the annual budget; oversee the expenditures pertaining to the operation of the information technology division; and, oversee the implementation and integration of all information technology projects.
This is a full-time FLSA exempt position scheduled for 8 hours/day, M-F. However, the employee may be required to work after hours and/or long hours to meet and maintain necessary service levels.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in a Computer Science related field, plus a minimum of five (5) years experience of increasingly responsible professional network/IT experience significantly similar to the current system in use by the City of Ellensburg including demonstrated excellence in providing internal customer service. An equivalent combination of education, training and or experience may be substituted if it provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to accomplish the professional network and information technology management functions. Must possess extensive experience with managing and maintaining Microsoft Operating systems; Virtual Server Technology, Storage Area Networks, and Website Management, Experience with Financial Management System, Customer Information System, and the City's budgeting process is desirable.
Special Requirements:
Valid State driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment; maintain insurable driving record; obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification; prior to employment applicants are required to pass a background check and must not have any felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years; applicant must complete a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) training exam within 3 months of their hire date.
