COMPANY OVERVIEW
Alpine Lakes High Camp is a collection of 9 backcountry ski/hike/bike cabins that are available for nightly rental year round. Located at 5,000' elevation, just 15min west of the town of Leavenworth WA, the property is tucked up alongside the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. With over 400,000 acres of peaks, lakes, ridges, trails, and rivers to explore right out your cabin door - there's no shortage of activity. In addition to the cabins, there is a community lodge, wood fired hot-tub & sauna, showers, and outhouse facilities. At this off-grid rustic resort, guests spend their time pursuing their favorite mountain activity having arrived to a fully-equipped and cozy cabin. RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Our Mountain Transport & Fleet Manager is responsible for keeping a variety of vehicles in working order throughout constant use in ever changing environmental conditions and degree of wear & tear. In addition, managing a team of transport drivers (4 staff) responsible for shuttling guests up and down the mountain. Fleet includes snowmobiles, off-road passenger vehicles (Land Rovers), Pisten Bully snowcat, and others as needed. Since Alpine Lakes High Camp is in the process of revamping our transport functions, efficiencies, and acumen, you'll help to structure the work and build the team! Key Responsibilities
Accountable for leading trouble-shooting, diagnosing, and repair of diesel, gasoline, and hydrostatic engines
Oversee the performance, conduct, and quality of work performed by Fleet Mechanic and Transport staff
Manage transport shift scheduling, transport budget, and overall team communications
Maintain equipment records, monitor shift sheets, shop supplies, and other documentation as needed
Inform and update fleet mechanic, managers, and other staff as needed about equipment problems and repairs
Responsible for the safety of fellow employees and guests with all equipment operation and shop equipment
Manage snowcat operators and grooming
Ongoing parts ordering and record keeping in order to keep the shop organized
Train/teach employees when applicable
Repair brakes, transmissions, rear-ends and clutches, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps and electrical systems
Perform ongoing vehicle preventative maintenance and tune-ups
Prioritize work with quickly changing timelines and requirements
Respond to field equipment emergencies as needed
Keep daily transport schedule prompt and on time
Ensure vehicle cleanliness and operational efficiency
Assists in other shop duties as assigned by Owner/Operator
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum age - 21 years old, no special license required
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Automotive, Truck, Snowmobile, UVT or Fleet diagnostics and repair
Able to diagnose and repair electrical, computer systems, and major mechanical problems on modern vehicles
Experience trouble-shooting and maintaining hydraulic and hydrostatic systems preferred, but not required
2 years' operating snowcats preferred
Frequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl and lift 50lbs or greater
Comfort with being exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and high noise levels in the working environment
Cooperative and positive attitude, and the ability to be flexible in a quickly changing work landscape
Strong personal initiative, motivation, and resourcefulness
High level of communication skills and comfort working with all types of people required
Personal and professional values in alignment with Alpine Lakes High Camp principles
Must possess the ability to operate all types of equipment that may be worked on
Valid driver's license and clean driving record/background check
Passion for the outdoors and the environment are required
Intermediate skills with MS Office tools Word/Excel, smartphone apps, Gmail, and Google Drive
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position is full time, hourly, non-benefited. This is a year round position with opportunity to grow within this small company. Starting pay is $17/hr with room for growth based on previous experience and time with Alpine Lakes High Camp. Weekly schedule is Thursday - Monday. Overtime after 40 hours. Eligible for extensive Pro Deals! Plus, Alpine Lakes Wilderness area is your office!
