This recruitment is for one full-time, non-permanent Equipment Operator 2 position at Lake Easton State Park located in the Central Cascades Area in Kittitas County, Washington.

DUTIES:

Under the Supervision of the Equipment Operator Supervisor, the Equipment Operator 2 contributes to the success of the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail and the Central Cascades Area Winter Recreation Program through skilled equipment operation, grooming equipment operation and maintenance. The primary duties include the operation & maintenance of the park area's heavy equipment, grooming and transportation of equipment for maintenance of trail infrastructure, and Nordic trail and recreational sledding grooming.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Operates snow cats, snowmobiles, loaders, blowers, and various sized plow trucks in adverse weather conditions.

Performs equipment transport duties using Class A & B trucks to the area's snow parks including loading and unloading, oversize load transport, chaining tires, shoveling and clearing transport equipment, and securing equipment for highway travel in adverse weather conditions.

Performs maintenance of the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail and facilities.

Maintains stream channels near bridges and large culverts to insure unhindered water flow.

Operates Class A and B trucks, tractors, loaders, powered cranes, excavators, bulldozers, carry-alls, snowplows, graders and similar equipment.

Loads and unloads equipment, puts chains on tires, shovel, clear transport equipment and secure equipment for highway travel in adverse weather conditions.

Performs minor maintenance and repairs on equipment including: welding, service, lubrication, cleaning, and maintaining service records.

Makes emergency adjustments on equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Three (3) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment including operation of bulldozers, graders, excavators, cranes, front loaders, or similar equipment.

An unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license with a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Note: This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug & alcohol screening.
