Heavy Equipment Operator / Laborer (Yakima)
We are looking to employ an experienced hay farm equipment operators ranging from tractor, sprayer, harrow bed, swather, fork, bailer loader, to join our growing team. The ideal candidates would possess a strong work ethic. Our 400 acre family farm grows grass hay, alfalfa, and barley. Wages are commensurate with skills.
Duties
Adhere to all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
Ability to work with other crew members in a safe and respectful manner
Able to work in typical farm site conditions which include weather and temperature variations, loud noise, dust, exc.
Perform Pre-operation inspections before and after use of equipment to ensure proper function.
Per maintenance policy, grease and fuel equipment as necessary and keep records of equipment hours
Operate various types of heavy equipment in a safe manner within company’s safety policies and procedures
Operate various equipment around and near other equipment and employees without conflict.
Load trucks with materials, rock, dirt and debris with various types of equipment
Must have hay farming experience and be able to be self motivated to get the job done.
Use equipment to handle, transport, load and place extremely heavy objects and materials
Safely operate equipment within legal proximity of underground and overhead utility lines without conflict
Report needed mechanical repairs per policy
Use equipment to handle, transport, load and place extremely heavy objects and materials.
Able to perform some labor tasks as necessary for the performance of work
Requirements & Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License
Have reliable transportation and able to work at all job site locations
Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
Must be able to lift, reach, dig and carry heavy objects with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and infrequent lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance.
