We operate more than 5,560 miles of gas transmission line and 756 Bcf of underground storage in the eastern U.S., along with gathering, processing and field services businesses. We operate in 12 states. BHE GT&S is an industry leader in liquefied natural gas solutions, through initiatives such as Pivotal LNG and our 25% operating stake in the Cove Point LNG facility in Lusby, Maryland. The energy we deliver supports major distribution utilities, power plants and manufacturing. Our premier storage operations provide dependable, flexible support for direct customers and neighboring pipelines. At our multiple interconnects - especially the liquid South Point hub - BHE GT&S services support both producers and consumers, ensuring competitive access to abundant energy.As an Engineer I, Engineer II or Engineer III, depending on your experiences,you will develop, manage, design, evaluate, and recommend facility plans/proposals for liquefied natural gas facilities (liquefaction, storage, vaporization, and transportation) and gas transmission facilitiesby applying engineering theories, principles, and practices along with project management skills that contribute to efficient, safe, reliable, and profitable facilities.Duties and Responsibilities: •Develop design plans, project schedules, accurate cost estimates, and agreements for proposed new facilities or modifications of existing facilities. •Provide leadership and accountability inclusive of project management, engineering, and construction support for capital projects from conceptual stage through successful start-up of facilities, with oversight of outside consultants and contractors; responsible for adherence to budgets and schedules. •Manage the development of timely, complete, and detailed designs for projects. •Develop and maintain specifications for materials/equipment. •Prepare requisitions for materials & equipment, consultant services, and construction services; evaluate proposals/bids. •Administer/manage service agreements, design contracts, and construction contracts. •Coordinate permit applications and environmental clearances required for capital projects. •Ensure accuracy of as-built information for assigned projects. •Ensure compliance with codes, laws, and company policies.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Engineer I: 0-2years relevant engineering design and construction experience. Engineer II: Minimum 3 years relevant engineering design and construction experience.Engineer III: Minimum 7 years relevant engineering design and construction experience.Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: •Ability to independently manage and design all aspects of large, complex projects. •Ability to perform effectively in a high pace, multi-task environment; and ability to independently plan and organize work schedule. •Ability to communicate effectively and develop rapport with internal and external customers. •Ability to operate a personal computer including the ability to utilize computer & engineering software applications. •Ability to make recommendations and decisions. •Project management and scheduling skills Preferred: •Experience in the Liquefied Natural Gas andgas transmission and LNG industry. •Knowledge of DOT Pipeline Safety Regulations and related codes/standards. •PE license or Engineer-in-Training certificate. •Project Management Professional certificate.Education Requirements For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, orPossess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, orPossess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a postgraduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, orPossess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, orHolds a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description •PE License or Engineer In Training Certificate •Project Management Professional Certificate Working Conditions Office Work Environment 76 -100%Travel Up to 25%Other Working Conditions Flexible work arrangements including hybrid or compressed schedule may be available, but not guaranteed.Test Description No Testing RequiredExport ControlCertain positions at BHE GT&S may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
