NIC is currently working 100% remote due to COVID. Ideally, we would like this candidate to be local, but are open to remote work.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our team as a .NET Developer. This position will oversee the management of new leading-edge Web/mobile/e-commerce applications and services as they move from client concept to launch. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of highly versatile and talented project managers, developers and designers and at various levels of state government.

Some duties of the .NET Developer include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, review and perform analysis, design, coding and implementation of simple to more complex internet and e-commerce applications using Microsoft development products (.Net Framework, C#, Visual Studio, WCF, MVC, SQL Server, IIS, Entity Framework) and open standards products (Javascript, AJAX, CSS) for both traditional browsers and mobile devices
  • Setup and maintain data structures and database environment
  • Maintain existing applications

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of professional experience in developing web applications with a strong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET and the.Net MVC framework
  • Understanding of IIS setup and configuration
  • Some understanding of network infrastructure in a virtual environment
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL for implementing database driven, web-based applications
  • Good understanding of SOAP and REST web services
  • Some understanding of Active Directory
  • Good communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for learning new technologies Self-motivated and creative
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
