Backend Developer(AWS)

Job Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance moderate to high complexity software applications
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Work with other developers to resolve design challenges and issues
• Unit test your code, be responsible for quality, and adhere to the standards defined by the team
• Test application behaviour under production load and with systems and/or browsers typical of the end user population
• Provide well written documentation on the design as well as any operating procedures
• Monitor the use and performance of the system, resolve problems, and make suggestions for improvement
• Assist clients in resolving technical problems or in the use of software. 

• At least five years of progressive experience developing back-end server components microservices, and/or REST API Services with either Python, JavaScript, or .NET/C#

• At least two years of experience working with AWS serverless services (e.g., Lambda, Event Bridge, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, DynamoDB). Comparable experience with Microsoft Azure will be considered
• Experience with Git version control system
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Understanding of big data architecture, data lake, and ETL technologies
• Experience developing code to perform data manipulation and analysis using Python pandas or similar
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL database (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
• Experience with unit testing methodologies and frameworks
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deliver (CI/CD) tools
• Experience with Agile/Scrum practices

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• Must be a US citizen with the ability to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship
• Must have ability to obtain a government public trust clearance.
