EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Public Relations, or related field required. Master’s Degree is preferred.

REQUIRED:

  • Two to three years in communications, PR, or related field.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills.
  • Superior copywriting and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency with Word; PowerPoint; Excel; CRM; content management systems; digital/social, graphic design and video production programs.
  • Knowledge and comfort with content production and access tools such as computers, tablets, smartphones, digital still cameras, video cameras.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Team-oriented and able to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to multitask and monitor several projects daily.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to take initiative to develop new strategies and outside-the-box ideas.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications Specialist (CS) is an experienced and skilled storyteller who helps positively position our brand through the creation and timely execution of programs, campaigns and tactics that improve affinity and preference among internal audiences for Mon Health System, its affiliated businesses and locally be a content expert for Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital (PMH). The CS develops content for social media, websites, newsletters, press releases and any other distribution channels in conjunction with Marketing teams and business entities as requested by the entity teams. Brainstorming and collaborating with various teams for new ideas and strategies throughout the organization is a key function of the CS, as is working with Marketing teams to coordinate deadlines, objectives, and schedules. The CS develops weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual media activity reports; creates the design, content and production of communication materials; and identifies media and press opportunities in conjunction with Marketing teams at all business entities. This position manages and maintains all internal and external website needs from design and creation to implementation and continuous monitoring. This position also manages collaboratively special events, promotions and community and public relations activities locally at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital and across the system.

Interactions occur within a diverse set of individuals and groups in representing a variety of roles and authority levels.
