Gentle Harvest Management, LC, a company that promotes the well-being of people, animals and the environment through responsible farming practices and wholesome food, is seeking a skilled, experienced Meat Cutter for its specialty market/café in Marshall, Virginia. This is a full-time position.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Cutting, slicing, and grinding meat products to specification
Delivering outstanding customer service
Ensuring meats are properly packaged, labeled and stored
Skillfully selling products by providing customers with accurate
information and helpful cooking tips
Monitoring product quality and freshness and ensuring proper rotation of product
Properly cleaning and maintaining meat coolers, cases and equipment
Requirements include but are not limited to:
Minimum of 3 years experience meat cutting/butchering
Knowledge of Certified Organic, Certified Humane® meats and poultry
Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
Ability to, at times, work in cold temperatures
Ability to move 80 pounds
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and some holidays
Knowledge of HACCP process preferred but training may be provided for the right candidate
