Set up slitter machine based upon cut size requirements and operate machinery to slit material as well as trimming material.
Operate a lathe to cut smaller size material rolls for production use.
Make all material measurement cuts and work order transactions necessary to assure compliance to all quality and specification requirements.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES :
Cut material to specifications called out in the work order on the slitter machine.
Move materials after slitting to the kit department and put on pegs. Ensure pegs are maintained with cut widths.
Meet all production and quality standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and report all discrepancies to management.
Represent Collins Aerospace in a professional and businesslike manner at all times.
Follow all safety procedures put in place by Collins Aerospace.
Use prescribed personal protective (safety) equipment, including but not limited to: respiratory protection, gloves, eye wear, and/or other devices.
Work extended or extra shifts, if customer requirements cannot otherwise be reasonably satisfied.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
An understanding of data collection devices and their proper usage.
An understanding of computers and the ability to enter and retrieve data from PCs as required.
Ability to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds (35 with no twisting) by oneself, or up to 70 pounds with assistance.
Ability to be trained to operate hoists, both electric and mechanical.
Ability to understand follow all safety precautions communicated through training and other means.
Ability to perform requested work repeatedly on a daily, weekly, monthly, or extended basis.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
