Biochemist

Job Description

1. Operate and maintain instruments, including but not limited to Applied Biosystems Procise 494 Edman Degradation Sequencers, Amino Acid Analysis HPLCs, and Waters Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer.

2. Assist Senior Analysts with complex analytical studies.

1. Performance of biochemical/chemical analysis and procedures

4. Interpretation of data obtained from biochemical/chemical analysis

5. Report writing

6. Prepare chemical solutions and perform detailed and complex analytical procedures (e.g., extractions, purifications, evaporations, derivatizations, etc.) following SOP’s and established test Protocols.

7. Receipt of incoming materials

8. Other laboratory tasks as needed

1. All of the above performed to cGMP following US FDA and EU guidelines

1. Preparation and review of SOPs

PROFILE

A BSc. or MSc. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry Analytical Sciences.

One to two years of industry experience

• Hands on application of one or more of the techniques used in the characterization of Biopharmaceuticals.
• Possess experience in the analysis of biologics.
• Be highly motivated, independent and interactive.
• Be highly organized and capable of multitasking to meet required deadlines.

• Effectively collaborate with colleagues, both internal and external.
• Ability to understand customer needs
