Job Description

Bring your experience in Materials Processing skills to Harsco Rail, where you will have the opportunity to build a career with highly engineered products and join a great team that delivers these products across the globe.
You will bbuild crate boxes using hand tools, powered tools and packing items such as machinery, larger or odd-shaped products, and equipment. You will read specification, shipping notices, and inspects product to determine size and shape of containers, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces to use. You will layout dimensions on material with measuring tape, and cut materials to size using power saws. You will assemble material, using nail guns, industrial stapler, drop saw, crosscut saw, bolts and other hand tools. You will place products in containers manually or using fork lift. You will secure equipment, machinery, product or crate boxes to skid. If necessary, wrap or place padding around product with banding or packing material for securement. You will inspect incoming and outgoing materials and notifying appropriate staff of potential shortages of orders or quality issues such as damage or defective products, equipment or machinery.
You will stencil crates according to procedures and regulations. You will determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedule. You will move shipments to designated area for pickup of domestic and international orders.
You will load pallets and material to be shipped and unload products such as raw material for building of crates, packaging material, or products from trucks in a safely manner.
You will maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications
Education High School Diploma
Experience 1 - 2 years of material processing experience 1 - 2 years of forklift experience 1 - 2 years of manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications
A. Education or Experience Basic Blue Print Reading R-View
B. Interpersonal Skills Active Listener Decision Maker Non Verbal and Verbal Communication Problem Solving
C. Technical Skills Basic computer knowledge is required

Work Environment - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
