Job Description

The

Clinical Program Manager reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Clinical Program Manager, BCVI West Region reports to the Director of Operations, BCVI West Region, and facilitates achievement of BCVIs goals through coordinating program development efforts in cardiovascular clinical care, research and education. The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for coordinating development of all business services partnering with the operational leaders supporting BCVI West Region including program structure, program budget development, quality reporting and analysis, and financial preparation and analysis as warranted. This position is instrumental in providing key support of the BCVI and assisting with the development of strategies to successfully compete for market penetration.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management and implementation oversight of existing and newly created cardiovascular clinical programs including developing the business case for new programs.
  • Cardiovascular clinical programs to include (but are not limited to):
    • Cardiac Surgery pre-op consultation and OR management.
    • Cardiac Surgery post-op management.
    • Ventricular Assist Devices and Heart Transplant program.
    • Advanced cardiovascular imaging.
    • Hybrid interventional labs/OR programs.
    • Other niche programs (i.e. bicuspid aortic valve program, atrial fibrillation program, TAVR, Acute MCS/ECMO).
  • Direct responsibilities to include:
    • Working closely with outcomes program associate, medical directors and operational leadership to use data to identify opportunities for clinical standardization, improvement or growth.
    • Lead teams to develop efficient workflows result in seamless coordination of care across the BCVI spectrum including pre-op/pre-procedure testing and work up, outpatient appointments, inpatient management, follow up and successful transition back to home.
    • Ensure quality oversight of programs and patient satisfaction of programs.
    • Coordinate research efforts related to programs.
    • Identifies and pursues business activities which achieve best patient experience and best people goals, enhance reputation, market and clinical leadership, improve financial performance, and enhance capability in cardiovascular disease.
    • Assist in the development of strategic plans aimed at continued BCVI growth with favorable outcomes.
    • Analyzes potential, risk/reward, resource requirements, and financial benefit to proposed BCVI initiatives through complex analysis and research of market, financial and internal factors.
    • Develops, implements and manages internal measurement and monitoring systems that demonstrate the effectiveness of business initiatives in enhancing patient care, access, volumes, market share, financial performance, and program reputation within the assigned cardiovascular areas.
    • Works with multiple departments (i.e. Business Development, Professional Services, inpatient nursing units, Perioperative Services and Ambulatory Practices) and key leadership across organizations (CDH, Delnor, Kish & Valley West) to develop processes, internal statistics, market data, and financial performance data as needed to evaluate existing programs for their fit with corporate mission, to advance and achieve BCVI goals, ability to meet key strategic criteria, and potential for improvement.
    • Work collaboratively with the BCVI outcomes management program and operational managers to systematize the monitoring and management of BCVI programs.
    • Manage medium to large scale enterprise projects using strong integration skills to effectively coordinate all aspects of a project or program.
    • Translate generalized customer business goals and objectives into concrete strategy and tactical plans.
    • Work effectively with Director of Operations, BCVI West Region, internal and external project stakeholders, third party vendors in defining, communicating and accomplishing project objectives.
    • Evaluate situations and project risks accurately and identify viable solutions that create successful project outcomes for the customer.
    • Utilize and apply an understanding of budgeting, project management and resource management to assigned projects.
    • Demonstrated presentation and written communication skills, including proposal writing.
    • Apply strong facilitation and negotiation skills to lead project meetings and achieve project results.
    • Demonstrated ability to get things done and execute on stated goals and plans.
    • Demonstrates the ability to deal with a changing environment and to lead/facilitate and manage change efficiently and effectively where appropriate.
    • Unquestionable integrity, credibility and character with demonstrated high moral, ethical behavior.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications or related field.
  • Current IL license as a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), or Physician Assistant (PA).
    • If APN: certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse by a national certifying body.
    • If PA: Masters degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years experience in a relevant role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills, excellent oral and communication skills, demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in MBA or MHA preferred; required in place of work experience.
  • Certification in area of specialty or administration.
