Project Engineer for our client in Brookfield, WI.

Position Summary:The Project Engineer is responsible for material & labor cost modeling/analysis of customers’ wire harness and battery cable prints and specifications. Additionally, this position is responsible for new part and assembly board development, engineering change orders, and regular maintenance of part data within the ERP and PLM systems.

Key Responsibilities:· Develop and maintain Bill-Of-Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing work instructions for new and existing products.· Develop cost estimates for new products by reviewing customer prints and specifications.· Recommend cost-saving alternatives to existing wire harnesses and battery cables through the use of component equivalents and commonly used cost-effective materials.· Produce and evaluate alternative wire harness design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance-based on knowledge of electrical engineering applications.· Review and evaluate electrical schematics to ensure accuracy of wire harness designs.· Expedite and/or fabricate the creation of prototype wire harness and battery cable assemblies. Review capability issues/constraints with production management when needed.· Generate 2-D prints· Maintain part data in the ERP and PLM systems· Coordinate/Facilitate special customer projects

Education and Professional Requirements:· Associates Degree with a focus in Electronics or Manufacturing preferred· 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the Wire Harness Industry.· High degree of professionalism and interpersonal communication skills.· Desire to work in a team environment where innovative ideas are shared and developed

Technical Requirements:· Experience using AutoCAD or other similar 3D modeling software preferred· Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics, 2-D drawings, engineering specifications, and quality standards.· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office· Experience with SAP (Business One preferred)
