What does an outstanding Senior ETL Developer do?

As a Senior ETL Developer, you will be accountable for developing system integrations between marketing, finance, sales, and relationship management systems, performing data migrations, performing, and automating data enrichment tasks, and managing the platforms, applications, and data relating to the job function. Expectations include a deep understanding of relational databases, data mining and transformation, integration patterns, systems administration, reporting and understanding of risk management & application security.

You will report to and work with Director of Solutions Architecture to design efficient, best-in-class solutions that scale, mentor other ETL developers and data management teammates. maintain integration platforms running on Windows / Linux Servers and assist in compliance procedures.

This role requires strong communication skills to ensure quality deliveries from a distributed program and business group environment. The ETL Developer will utilize their experience to make hard decisions, implement best practices and complete projects on time.

You can look forward to:

  • Working with solutions architect, release/project manager, business analysts and developers across various disciplines to ensure the right plan, design and solution is developed
  • Building, configuring, testing, and creating supporting documentation for system integration, administration, and compliance tasks
  • Identify and execute ideas to reduce technical debt and improve system integration and database performance
  • Providing support for database and platform environments including incident management and resolution
  • Effectively communicating and presenting best practices to improve processes and productivity, and make recommendations
  • Remaining current on new and emerging integration technologies, capabilities, and patterns
  • Coaching and mentoring other ETL developers and data management teammates

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • High School diploma; Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years' experience in Information Technology i.e., administering and supporting operating systems, networks, databases, etc.
  • 5+ years of system integration experience using ETL tools (i.e., Talend, MuleSoft, Informatica, SSIS etc.)
  • 2+ years developing integrations with Salesforce's API
  • Integration development experience with Sales / CRM technologies
  • MS SQL Server Database design, development, and rooted understanding of data relationships within RDBMS as well as file data stores (CSV, XML, JSON, etc.)
  • Experience with JSON, XML, SQL, Salesforce SOQL, SOAP/REST-based web services

  • Has strong technical & process development skills
  • Has a deep understanding of batch and real-time system integration development patterns.
  • Working knowledge of API Authentication and Authorization (OAuth, OpenID, Bearer, etc.)
  • Is experienced integrating with the Salesforce.com API
  • Uses Salesforce Data Loader
  • Understands SDLC using Agile development practices
  • Has working knowledge of source control (GIT, SVN, etc.)
  • Has scripting knowledge to automate repetitive tasks
  • Is analytical and a problem-solver with tools such as (i.e., Python, PowerShell, Groovy, etc.)
  • Has the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, coach and mentor teammates as required
  • Has effective communication with all levels externally and within an organization
  • Is organized and can prioritization tasks; result oriented with a focus on delivery
  • Can Handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with other non-MS RDBMS (i.e., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Experience developing system integrations with other cloud-based systems (i.e., Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, Clarity, etc.)
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines to promote and test integration deployments
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Knowledge of financial institution industry or related business
