PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Fulfill external and internal quality compliance responsibilities such as PPAP's, SCRs, Inspection Plans, and Internal Audits and Process Audits.
  • Interpret customer standards such as ANSI/ ISO/ ASTM, along with providing Engineering support for new or revised parts and/ or processes
  • Liaise external and internal customers in new part development and drawing interpretation including, but not limited to GD&T
  • Provide Quality Engineering support during the introduction of new or revised parts and/or processes
  • Communicate and work with customers on quality processes and issues, internally participate/ co-manage material review board (MRB)
  • Monitor product quality, identify sources of quality problems, and facilitate corrective/ preventative actions solutions
  • Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects
  • Plan, implement and coordinate studies for quality process improvements and cost reductions utilizing appropriate statistical methods/quality tools
  • Create, maintain, and improve current manufacturing measurement and inspection work instructions/ procedures
  • Determine measurement methodologies and gaging requirements for new or existing parts or processes
  • Assist problem solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Support Production (machinists) and Inspection personnel and processes

REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED QUALIFICTIONS:

  • Associate degree (AAS.) is required. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in Quality
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of metrology and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Must be able to lead New Product Introductions from prototype stage through final production
  • Current with modern manufacturing methods including Lean Manufacturing, Quick Response Manufacturing, Cellular Manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • CMM programming and/ or SolidWorks knowledge is a plus
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer, preferred
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills and listening skills
