Job Duties:
-Meets the standard of performance.
-Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all equipment which includes high quality and low cost completed in a timely matter to meet fleet cost per mile goals.
-Maintain proficiency in rebuilding components on equipment.
-Effectively and efficiently performs preventable maintenance inspections. Ensure the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during preventive maintenance inspections.
-Ensure all company, EPA and Safety policies are complied with to meet local, state and federal standards.
-Tires and break changes in timely manner.
-Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
-Work adequately with other mechanics.
-Diagnosing electrical issues with brakes.
-Fix and make adjustments on damaged trailer bodies.
-Inspect and relay information on frequent yard checks.
-Be capable of keeping up on inventory.
-Be consistently reliable and on time.
-Keep updated on training that occurs.
Abilities/Skills required:
-Must possess mechanical skills and aptitude for the position.
-Must be able to exhibit skills and knowledge through the entire time employed.
-Must be able to read, write and speak the English language and have some computer and phone skills.
Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to life at least 50 pounds and be able to stand for long hours.
-Must be able to work scheduled shifts including on-call periods.
-Must be able to work in all types of climates including extreme hot, cold, wet, noisy and dusty conditions.
-Be able to operate and use various tools and/or equipment in a safe matter.
-Use personal protective equipment when needed.
