In this role, you’ll be an intermediary between the business and IT, using a deep understanding of business processes and technology to help business partners achieve scalable technical solutions that align with business initiatives. You’ll understand enterprise and departmental problems and goals, analyze stakeholder needs and solutions, and devise strategies to manage change. You’ll gather and analyze information in support of business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements. As a Business System Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that the information technology team understand the business requirements and deliver solutions that align with stakeholder needs. You’ll lead stakeholder collaboration and gather and compile user requirements. You’ll help plan, design, develop, launch, and support efficient business, financial, and operations systems for core organizational functions and business processes. You’ll need to have proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Analyzes and initiates business process improvements across wide range of processes, systems, and business areas; assist in setting direction-based output requirements, formats, and user needs.
  • Identifies, develops, and evaluates alternatives to meet business requirements. Coordinates with internal and external business partners in designing and developing new systems, processes, and procedures. Coordinates, plans, and performs enhancements, upgrades, and on-going maintenance.
  • Reviews, analyzes, tests, and recommends new software applications and equipment. Assists in maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Defines scope, objectives, and requirements on projects. Assists in defining and designing system, business, data requirements and recommends solutions to business needs.
  • Develops and administers documentation of projects, recommendations, and implementation procedures. Communicates project outcomes in a clear, effective, and timely manner to necessary parties in the business area and other customer areas.

  • Develop specifications diagrams and flowcharts for the project team to follow during system configuration.
  • Resolves issues escalated by the business team using simple, non-technical language. Can also consult with IT Personnel in a more technical manner and other business areas to help with resolutions.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with stakeholders to increase satisfaction with project outcomes.
  • Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues and act as a point of contact for IT deliverables.
  • Utilize modeling, testing and data models to improve the flow of information throughout the organization to enhance the overall project success.
  • Document and execute test plans and scenarios for IT deliverables; verify testing results for accuracy, relevance, and completeness.
  • Support business testing activities and ensure testing appropriateness to meet business requirements.
  • Create dashboard/reports, timeline, create schedules and oversees progress to make sure all escalations, new issues, and requests are worked, communicated, and collaborated to successful completion.
  • Review business processes and research new IT advancements to modernize systems.
  • Evangelize best practice use of applications for scalable deployments.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of comprehensive communication and training plans and materials for business associates and customers.

Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field, required, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in the business system analyst field or related area
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience enough to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Solid working knowledge of systems design process and methodology as well as knowledge, use of systems tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and other applications as required.
  • Solid analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational and project requirements.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to challenge partners across functional areas to better understand their needs.
  • Experience defining and maintaining business, process, and technical maps.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high level of accuracy.
  • Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, technical and subject matter experts.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow through, including proper documentation.
