General Summary:

Designs and produces graphic art and visual materials for print and digital media. Ensures that layout and design are aligned with brand and production standards and follow best practices. Creates and executes design solutions and collateral used for marketing, advertising, sales, and other forms of communication. Coordinates with marketing managers and internal clients to conceptualize and deliver projects on time. Experienced using a variety of design and editing tools and software such as Adobe. Knowledge of color, composition, typography, photography, digital design, and production management. Highly creative, self-motivated, and forward thinking. Great communication is a must.

Job Duties:

  • Demonstrates and embodies the PMI Entertainment Group Culture and Customer Service values.

  • Insures understanding of objective, audience, mode of distribution, content, style, tone, and budgetary considerations prior to starting a design project.

  • Formulates concepts and overall design in close concert with the Marketing Manager and/or customer depending upon source of the project.

  • Designs effective marketing concepts according to agreed upon project objectives.

  • Understands printing process/technology and designs accordingly.

  • Chooses paper stocks, colors, fonts, folds, and printing techniques to meet project objectives.

  • Understands strengths and weaknesses of area printers and negotiates fairly with them to obtain competitive pricing and the best quality printing.

  • Proofs accurately and thoroughly/self-proofs prior to routing.

  • Assures that all materials leaving the department have been prepared according to customer approvals and production specifications.

  • Releases final art to chosen printer in the correct format and configuration needed, proofs pre-press and schedules delivery or installation.

  • Attends photo shoots for assigned projects and selects the appropriate vendor for each project.

  • Strives to meet assigned deadlines and notifies Marketing Manager of any needed change to schedule.
  • Creates copy and develops headlines as requested.

  • Attends client meeting as needed.

  • Reviews and evaluates effectiveness of marketing materials created and makes recommendations for future projects.

  • Provides staff assistance to all departments concerning graphic arts or printing problems.

  • Maintains workable, user-friendly file on all print bids and approvals for billing purposes and future print projects.

  • Archives finished jobs properly to ensure accessibility of files for future need.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and development in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences and seminars.

  • Responsible for following, observing, and participating in all Company related safety programs, procedures, and training as well as reporting potentially unsafe conditions.

  • Understands and follows workplace etiquette and behavior, portraying a professional appearance.

  • Knowledge of marketing, advertising and promotion programs at a level acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, design, graphic arts, or related field.

  • Experience in graphic design with a full understanding of the development and promotion of advertising material and marketing tools is desired, but not required.

  • Interpersonal skills required to maintain positive customer relations with clients, local business representatives and a variety of company personnel when developing programs and promotional material.

  • Extensive working knowledge and skill of the following are required: Adobe Creative Suite (includes Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint. Thorough knowledge of desktop publishing and photo manipulation technologies are needed.
  • Competency in using a pc, scanners, and printers.

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, scanner, printer, digital camera, and standard office equipment such as calculator, copy machine, and telephone.

Other Expectations:

  • Frequent mobility and/or sitting or standing required for extended periods of time. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and standard office equipment. Requires hearing within normal range and visual acuity (with correction) sufficient to make artistic judgments about layout and design.

  • Creative mind required to originate and implement marketing ideas and concepts. Must understand vague and implicit instructions. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must have ability to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials, and articulate goals and action plans. Requires excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to make effective decisions in supervisor’s absence.

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
