The Gateway Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America Scout Shop, located in La Crosse, WI has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Sales Associate/Office Assistant.
The right candidate will contribute to the successful daily operations of the Gateway Area Council Scout Shop by transacting sales, receiving orders, stocking shelves, maintain a clean customer friendly environment, assist with Eagle Scout project processing, council events/registration processing, along with general front office support and traditional office assistant duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The individual will provide:
Provides excellent customer service in the store and on the phone.
Processes customer orders through the Point of Sale system.
Maintains a stocked, organized, and clean store.
Closes the store as directed by management using prescribed policies and procedures.
Safeguards Boy Scout of America money and merchandise.
Process council event registrations.
Receives and screens telephone calls & visitors.
Receives, screens and distributes the mail.
Assist with Eagle Scout project processing.
Create & distribute quarterly newsletter
Qualifications/Experience:
The qualified candidate must have:
Retail experience is helpful.
MS Office knowledge is preferred.
Knowledge of Scouting Program is a plus.
Good Communication Skills.
Ability of perform a variety of general office functions.
Motivated and attention to detail is a must.
Position is 20-28 a week. Scheduled hours are 3-4 days a week 11:00 am to 6:30 pm. (Close the store at 6pm.) Hours will vary based on needs of Council. Submit a cover letter and resume.
