- The candidate will be responsible for assisting in ETL design, development, testing, maintenance, metadata, and implementation of data warehouse initiatives. Understand user requirements, and implement solutions that ensure requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables. Develop ETL mapping specifications for loading information into the data warehouse and for ensuring reliability of information loaded. Seek continuous improvement in performance & tuning of data warehouse and ensure security of data. Works with other IT technical teams and Business users to understand requirements, and recommend & implement solutions. Closely supervised with some latitude for independent judgment. Typically requires up to three years of experience or equivalent education.
- • Moderate experience in data warehousing process design, development, performance & tuning using the Informatica data warehousing tool suite
- • Developing skills in the architecture of data warehouse and data integration strategies and solutions
- • Knowledge in data warehouse best practice standards
- • Knowledge in relational data base technologies; e.g. Oracle, DB2, SQL Server
- • Moderate skills working with relational and dimensional data models
- • Moderate skills working with slowly changing dimensions
- • Strong data management and data analysis using SQL.
- Produces and executes business scenario test plans and test cases to meet functional requirements. Identifies and logs issues and manages through to resolution by working with the appropriate project resources. Demonstrates ability to communicate test results and possesses very strong analytical and organizational skills focusing on QA test process and its relationship to producing a quality end product. Desirable to have a good understanding of QA methodologies, testing techniques and BI development lifecycles.
- Demonstrates ability to manage competing priorities across multiple efforts at varying stages within the development lifecycle; keep up with fast-paced schedules; and learn new technologies quickly and effectively. Independently performs a variety of complicated tasks and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Works independently and with team members to understand database structure, business process and the correlation between the two. Comfortable in a complex data environment and understanding of data structures.
- Ability to convey work and results to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
