- The Database Administrator will provide adequate database administration services to support enhancement and implementation of business applications, meet database migration schedules.
- The position will support day to day database application changes and database maintenance activities, participate in database migration efforts and participate in a database automation project.
- This position will require knowledge of relational database systems, database management, software development, and data modeling.
- This position provides primary database support for Oracle and backup support for MS SQL Server.
- This position will work on database application changes, daily maintenance activities, participate in database migration efforts to support technology refreshes that are crucial to agency business needs.
- Apply application database changes
- Perform back up and environment refreshes
- Monitor database metrics, ensure database stability
- Troubleshoot database errors or performance degradations
- Assist application development teams in tuning SQL and other code for database efficiency
- Perform technical tasks related to database migrations
- Update and create data models
- 10+ years Database administration experience, including but not limited to DBMS software installation, backup, recovery
- Extensive working knowledge of the Oracle database management system software
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server database management system software
- Extensive experience with database tuning
- Knowledge of project management concepts, ability to plan projects
- In-depth working knowledgeable of software development lifecycle
- Experience with data modeling
- Working knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows operating systems.
