Title: Database Administrator Mandatory skills:MS SQL Server,database management,project management,data modeling Description: Database Administrator IVThe Database Administrator IV will provide adequate database administration services to supportenhancement and implementation of business applications, meet database migration schedules. Theposition will support day to day database application changes and database maintenance activities,participate in database migration efforts and participate in a database automation project. Thispositition will require knowledge of relational database systems, database management, softwaredevelopment, and data modeling. This position provides primary database support for Oracle andbackup support for MS SQL Server.This position will work on database application changes, daily maintenance activities, participate indatabase migration efforts to support technology refreshes that are cricial to agency business needs.Key assignments include:- apply application database changes- perform back up and environment refreshes- monitor database metrics, ensure database stability- troubleshoot database errors or performance degredations- assist application development teams in tuning SQL and other code for database efficiency- perform technical tasks related to database migrations- update and create data modelsSkills and Competencies:10+ years Database administration experience, including but not limited to DBMS softwareinstallation, backup, recoveryExtensive working knowledge of the Oracle database management system softwareWorking knowledge of MS SQL Server database management system softwareExtensive experience with database tuningKnowledge of project management concepts, ability to plan projectsIn-depth working knowledgeable of software development lifecycleExperience with data modelingWorking knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows operating systemsTop Skills & Years of Experience:10 or more years in a database administration role, including supporting application development teams.Extensive working knowledge of Oracle DBMS is required.The database administrator will support day to day database application changes, daily database maintenance activities and project work.Nice to have skills:Experience administering SQL Server databases in support of application development teams.
