IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide. Our client is looking for an Oracle DBA/Architect professional. This DBA/ Architect’s primary responsibility will be for the Oracle administration and support of our existing Data Warehouse and OLTP environments for the Business Intelligence and Application Development sections. The DBA will collaborate with with development architects, developers, and analysts to implement and validate changes to database schemas and support the Software Development Life Cycles for numerous applications. The DBA must have experience with Oracle Database management tools such as OEM, SQL Plus, and SQL developer. This role requires interaction with a cross-functional team. These teams may be comprised of people from other State Departments with various levels of Oracle knowledge and experience. The teams may include Technical Administrators or business professionals from program areas, infrastructure, application development, or 3rd party Vendors. The candidate will be responsible to ensure that solutions are planned, developed, deployed, and maintained in accordance with the Department of Children and Family’s security policies and business requirements. A strong communication with different stakeholders both verbally and written are necessary for success.

Tasks
  • Database administration for SQL application databases and security assignments
  • Designs and builds relational databases.
  • Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
  • Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data.
  • Must be able to design, develop and manipulate database management systems, data warehouses and multidimensional databases.
  • Requires a depth and breadth of database knowledge that will help with formal design of relational databases and provides insight into strategic data manipulation.
  • Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
  • Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data
Note: Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. This position is currently Remote in Wisconsin. However, position status is subject to change.

Rotating 24x7 on call will be required. Location: Madison, WIContract: 1+ years

Skills Required:
  • 6 years - Database Architect capabilities
  • Experience with Oracle Data Warehouse environments.
  • 4 years - Experience with PLSQL in supporting an application development team.
  • 4 years - Experience with Oracle 12.2 and higher with multitenant architecture experience.
  • Experience with Linux Shell Scripting.
  • 8 years - Database Tuning and Maintenance to assure highest level of system availability and performance
  • Experience with Oracle Database management tools such as OEM, SQL Plus, and SQL developer.
  • 8 years - Ability to navigate and query relational database (Oracle) to develop reports
  • 8 years - Create database objects
  • 4 years - Database design
  • 8 years - Database links and multiple database instances

Skills Desired – A plus to have:
  • Certified as an Oracle DBA
  • Experience with enterprise class applications with mission critical functionality which contain sensitive and or regulatory information such as IRS Pub 1075 and PII.
  • Experience with meeting government regulations on security, data encryption as defined by the regulations
  • Erwin Data Model knowledge, Informatica Source and Target management
  • BS in computer science or related engineering field
