Fromagination Cheesemonger (Capitol Square, Madison)
Part Time - 25-30 hours per week
Fromagination, one of the top 10 cheese shops in the U.S., is looking for passionate cheesemongers.
Fromagination is looking for people that are passionate about artisan cheese, foods and beverages that pair with cheese, and providing excellent customer service! Enjoy working in a small, locally-owned business, and with small artisan food producers from around Wisconsin. Taste and learn about award-winning cheese, and other foods.
Applicants must show a strong desire to learn, top-notch people skills, and a strong work ethic.
We are looking for people that have:
■ A passion for providing great customer service
■ Interest in cheese (of course) and artisan, hand-made and small-batch specialty foods, beers and wines
This is a fast-paced, front-of-house culinary environment. Applicants must show excellent people skills, a strong desire to learn and educate customers, and a good service ethic. In addition to general cut-to-order cheese work and other counter work, responsibilities include preparing shop for opening and closing, caring for cheese, preparation of artisan catering trays and gift baskets.
Requirements
■ Prior education in, or professional experience with, small-batch, artisan cheeses and/or artisan beer is strongly preferred.
■ Interest in artisan, hand-made and small-batch specialty foods, wines, spirits, beer.
■ Available to work 25-30 hours per week. Must be able to work Saturdays. Starting pay based on level of experience. (Additionally, employees receive a 30% store discount.) Employees over 30 hours are eligible for a monthly health insurance stipend and choice of company plans.
