SUMMARY: Tends rebar fabricating machines that cut, shape, and bend rebar to safety and efficiently meet the provided schedules and demands by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. other duties may be assigned.
1. Retrieves appropriate material for each job ticket using fork lift, overhead crane, pallet jacks as necessary.
2. Operates rebar fabricator machinery and equipment.
3. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
4. Sets stops or guides (mechanical or digital) to specified length and dimensions as indicated by scale, rule or template.
5. Loads the rebar fabricator machine appropriately and positions rebar against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
6. Operates a variety of rebar fabrication equipment safety and efficiently to meet work schedule and demands.
7. Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
8. Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
9. Bundles and tags output by naming customer job.
10. Loads bundles on to trucks or into warehouse storage using fork lift, overhead crane, pallet jacks.
11. Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
12. Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack and transport finished workpieces.
13. Unloads delivered rebar from delivery trucks using appropriate material handling equipment.
14. Ensure proper quantities are delivered by verify delivered quantity to delivery ticket. File appropriate paperwork to receive the delivery.
15. Properly stock received inventory appropriate warehouse location.
16. Utilizes safety gear/personal protective equipment to include but not limited to eye, ear, toe, head and breathing apparatus at all times.
