Purpose: Shipping and Receiving person verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares outgoing shipments to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Receive, check in and put away inbound orders. Receipt the orders in ADP. Assign BIN locations to all incoming parts including Service special order parts.
2. Maintain neat and orderly the Service special order bin's and notify service when special order parts have arrived.
3. Inspect incoming freight for loss or damage. File claims for any loss or damage and maintain records of the claims filed.
4. Assist in pulling part orders and provide general assistance in filling orders. Help on dispatching delivery drivers and delivering parts to the Service Department.
5. Drive company truck when required to deliver or pick up parts.
6. Maintain a neat and orderly warehouse with emphasis on keeping the isles clear of parts and trash. Insure all parts are properly stored with appropriate bin locations entered into ADP. Oversee the area outside the shipping door to keep it clear of trash, boxes and pallets.
7. Be responsible for parts left in the warehouse by others and make sure they are routed to the appropriate location.
8. Perform BIN checks on a regular basis with goal of checking one bin per day.
9. Sort and distribute inbound UPS, Fed-Ex to the appropriate departments.
10. Assist is packing, labeling and shipping outbound freight.
11. Maintain files to properly document inbound and outbound freight.
Skills, Knowledge and/ or Experience Required:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Minimum of 2 years experience in a dealership environment. Valid Drivers license, good driving record. Must be certified in fork lift operation. Able to effectively use computer system for parts department record keeping.
