Job Description

Position Summary: To work directly with the environment department, assisting in the development of sustainable programs and maintenance of existing and newly developed programs for the company as related to alternative storage solutions, as well as related to management and land spreading activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining alternative waste stream storage and land spreading site programs.

Perform soil sampling, associated data logging and recordkeeping.

Participate in planning process regarding role and overall company process improvements.

Adhere to all policies as required by company and its governing entities.

Clear communication of updates on work completed, and in progress, to direct report on a regular basis via written report to assure priorities are determined and met. (i.e. - email)

Essential Skill Set and Experience:

Previous farming/agricultural operations including soils and/or land management.

Education or demonstrated knowledge of soil types, nutrient/soil management and crop selections for land management applications.

Experience operating soil testing equipment, computers and/or tablets, pick-up trucks with automatic or manual transmissions.

Working knowledge of Internet use and computer programs. Main areas of focus; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Access database.

Working knowledge of GPS, GIS systems and other mapping programs or ability to learn within six months.

Knowledge of farming and soils management (associated) governmental agencies programs and regulations. (i.e. - FSA, WDNR, etc.)

High energy level necessary to organize and manage multiple priorities with a demonstrated attention to detail and recordkeeping.

Working knowledge of techniques for planting and harvesting of crops and crop rotation.

Problem solving and a strategic and functional level.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to work with people in all aspects of the job; management, fellow employees, farming related people, regulatory personnel and the general public.

Ability to act independently, demonstrating time management and efficiency.

Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Job Type: Full-time

Hourly rate $16.00 up to $19.00
