Title: Guest Service Representative

Summary: Responsible for attending to the needs of guests, including check-in and check-out.

Essential Functions:

1. Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service by responding to guest needs and concerns.

2. Provides information to guests about hotel policies, services and amenities.

3. Listens and responds to guests inquires, concerns and requests for assistance and information about the local area.

4. Handles guest check-in and check-out in an accurate and efficient manner.

5. Enters/changes reservation information on the hotel computer systems.

6. Processes payment from guest and posts charges to guest accounts.

7. Balances shift and cash drawer.

8. Operates hotel telephone console and uses good telephone etiquette.

9. Sells rooms to guests on the telephone and to "walk-ins".

10. Promotes hotel sales and revenue programs.

11. Maintains open communication with all hotel departments.

12. Understands and performs basic safety, security and emergency procedures of the hotel.

13. Assists different departments as needed.

14. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

6. Ability to handle money and make change

7. High School education or equivalent

8. Computer experience

Working Relationships:

1. Interacts with all other property team members, including other departments throughout the hotel.

2. Reports to Front Desk Manager and / or General Manager.

The employee will periodically lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.

Members of our Front Desk team play a crucial role in providing that critical first impression to our guests and have a natural passion for delivering exceptional service. Our team member will enjoy solving problems, be comfortable using a computer to check guests in and out and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and confidently. From setting up the morning paper work for the rest of the day to processing the work at the end of day. You need to ensure everything is balanced, resolve issues, clean your work area, and several other tasks needed by the hotel.
