As the Test Automation Architect, you will be responsible for testing (verification and validation) of our next generation of products in an Agile-Scrum environment, partnering with scrum team that focuses on the development of a robust quality product to improve the customer experience. You will be working closely with various software development teams to coordinate testing efforts, prepare testing plans, and develop best practices that complement existing development methodologies and practices. The position will also be responsible for compiling and reporting overall software Quality Assurance metrics for the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • The Test Automation Architect will coordinate and lead the company's test automation initiatives by developing automation strategy and participating in testing and validation activities.
  • Create a testing strategy given a regulatory context and environment
  • Lead a small offshore team
  • Design/architect test automation frameworks from scratch for web, desktop, mobile, API and performance testing
  • Identify the scope of the testing based on the requirements
  • Develop custom reusable test automation libraries
  • Design, develop and maintain automated regression suite
  • Support multiple testing efforts simultaneously
  • The Test Automation Architect will respond to technical queries, document planning activities, coordinate offshore activities, build work plan and Visio diagrams
  • Conducts research, recommends new tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality

Technical Skills & Competencies
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent work experience
  • Architect level of Automation Test experience
  • Must have a strong track record of providing test automation initiatives and strategic direction
  • Experience in leading and managing automation test projects and teams
  • Knowledge in Object oriented programming concepts and experience in programming in C#
  • Experience in designing and architecting test automation frameworks for web, desktop, mobile and API applications from scratch
  • Experience in Gherkin (BDD /TDD) using Cucumber and Knowledge of page object model design pattern.
  • Experience with either Java or C# programming; Would like to have strengths with one or the other programming languages with at least exposure to the other one
  • Experience in tools such in Selenium
  • Experience with Automated Mobile Application Testing Frameworks such as Appium, Calabash, Ranorex or Robotium is a plus
  • Experience with web service technology such as XML, REST, SOAP
  • Experience working with various source code and CI/CD management tools (e.g., Jenkins, DevOps, Git, Bitbucket)
  • Hands on experience using Sauce Labs for parallel cross browser and cross OS testing.
  • Experience in building automation framework from scratch
  • Team lead experience with offshore and/or onshore teams
  • Docker, Azure Cloud experience a plus
  • Performance testing and JMeter a plus
  • Experience or familiarity with Rest Assured is plus
  • Experience using JIRA, ALM, Xray or any relevant Test management tool.
  • Strong understanding of SQL database, ability to write SQL queries (SQL Server)
  • Experience developing utilities using Java, Python, or any scripting languages.
  • Should be able to work in an Agile environment and capable of delivering test automation in sprint.
  • Ability to quickly fix and diagnose issues within the quality assurance environment and communicate that knowledge to a varied audience of technical and non-technical partners.
  • Strong desire for establishing and improving product quality.
  • Willingness to take challenges head on while being part of a team.
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings to report on test progress, metrics, issues, and risks.
