Job Description

Position Summary

Position will program CMMs and inspect product according to specifications and standards and measurement principles. Documents non conformances and works with associates to implement corrective and preventive action. Operates a variety of manual gages to validate inspection results. This position will be involved in compiling PPAP documentation for customers. This individual will be working closely with Production Operations and Engineering.

Responsibilities

· Program and Operate Zeiss CMM using Calypso software.

· Read and interpret technical drawings for inspection.

· Use manual inspection tools to validate CMM readings

· Analyze data to identify corrective and preventive improvements

· Assures that products produced represents the desired quality and reliability.

· Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with APQP and PPAP

· Documents first piece article and PPAP parts.

· Conduct 8D and 5Why investigations of issues

· Assists with training new operators on proper CMM inspection techniques

Qualifications

Experience and Skill Required

· Minimum 3 years of experience programming CMMs with at least 1 year in Calypso

· 3 years properly reading and interpreting inspection instruments to determine part conformance.

· Ability to read and interpret dimensions using GD&T.

· ASQ inspection certification a plus

· ISO9001 Experience

· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products

· Experience in machining process with preference in gear manufacturing preferred
