Job Description
Under general supervision, performs activities such as panel or system wiring, cable fabrication, and assembly of electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, or specialized test equipment. Requires interpretation of wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, layout drawings. May include the creation of markup drawings.
JOB SUMMARY:Under the direction of a test engineer, performs the assembly and wiring of custom test solution hardware used in global manufacturing facilities to produce products. These test solutions consist of mechanical fixtures and systems, and a wide array of electrical and electronic components.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs the assembly of test solutions including:§ Test Fixture wiring and mechanical construction§ Control enclosure & panel wiring§ Enclosure mechanical assembly§ Soldering§ Cable assembly Validates and updates test solution documentation:§ Drawings§ System BOM (Bill of Materials) Estimates and tracks solution build durations Construction Lab Responsibilities§ Safety§ Organization§ 5S Assist Test Engineers with the following activities§ BoM Costing§ Equipment Crating and Shipping coordinationEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Typically requires a minimum of 2 years related experience. Associate's degree (2 year college degree), 4 or more years related experience in lieu of degree. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic hardware assembly. Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills. Good verbal & written communication skillsTRAVEL Less than 10% however, the flexibility to work at either the MEQ or MKE locations is required.Additional Information
