Job Description

The Executive Director is responsible for directing and supporting the assigned programs to maximize their productivity and excellence. This role works closely with the Director of East/West Coast Operations of Center for Discovery as well as the Directors of Operations of the Discovery Mood and Anxiety Program. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees day to day operations of assigned programs and analyzes Key Performance Indicators of each program to ensure the embodiment of the organizational values of access to care and clinical quality.  
  • Leads in a solution focused manner with an emphasis on continuous improvement for facilities and the organization. 
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate systems, policies, and procedures in each program.  
  • Ensures programs are in compliance with regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and requirements of third-party payers.   
  • Collaborates with Director of East Coast Operations and/or Regional Director to identify areas of improvement within programs and solution focused plans of action. 
  • Understands and works with the Director of East Coast Operations to analyze financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to promote effective use of program(s) resources and alignment to budget. 
  • Works collaboratively with Human Resources department to lead team and establish a trusting and productive department. This includes carrying out essential HR functions for direct reports (i.e. hiring, annual reviews, performance management, and personnel improvement plans).  
  • Maintains excellent and prompt communication with all support departments to ensure coordination of operational activities.  
  • Serves as representative for Center for Discovery by collaborating with the Clinical Outreach Representatives to establish and maintain positive relationships with the community.
  • Interacts with outside eating disorder, substance abuse, and mental health treatment programs and providers at all levels of care to establish referral relationships, educate regarding our treatment approach, and facilitate continuity of care for shared clients.  
  • Promotes superb customer service and excellent service delivery. 
  • Participate in clinical/administrative on call rotation within facility(s). 
  • Assists with clinical work in the program(s) (if applicable) and engages patients in a meaningful and supportive recovery process. 
  • Contributes to effective teamwork by encouraging staff to work independently and to seek support when needed.  
  • Supports staff by helping with any job duties in the facility, as they need to be completed, and creating a culture where all contribute to provide high quality care to our patients.
  • Supports East Coast Director of Operations in any other needs for programs overseen.

  • Manage challenging and crisis situations in a calm and confident manner, and provide leadership and appropriate role modeling to others in doing the same 
  • Exhibits a collaborative, resourceful, and enthusiastic approach to challenges and leadership 
  • Demonstrates ability to access and document using the organization’s systems including, but not limited to: Electronic Health Records, Human Resources Information System, and Expense Management System 
  • Must dress in a professional manner and have a professional demeanor in all interactions internally and externally

  • Clinical Director(s) within assigned programs
  • Milieu Manager(s) within assigned programs
  • Director of Nursing(s) within assigned programs
  • Medical Director(s) within assigned programs
  • Oversee all program staff 

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate, required 
  • Licensure, preferred
  • Minimum of three years of management experience in the healthcare industry, required
