Job Description
Brief Description of the RoleThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for all aspects of HR at the shop hourly/supervisor level for multiple locations. The role will provide a broad range of HR services in support of business objectives and be Operations focused with emphasis on tactical delivery and some strategic business partnering.
Key AccountabilitiesWorkforce Planning
- Partner with HR Leader, HR Generalist, and customer groups for organization assessment and upgrading talent through strategic staffing and developing pipeline talent.
- Partner with HR Leader and HR Generalist to develop workforce plan for supported sites.
Talent Acquisition
- Support staffing and recruiting activities across supported sites.
- Partner with HR generalist, Talent Acquisition Specialists, and site leadership as required to source, interview, and select non-exempt and exempt regular or temporary positions in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Serve as back up for hourly recruiting.
- Employ behavioral based interviewing technics to ensure that new hires obtain a high degree of successful performance in their roles
- Partner with HR Generalist, staffing agencies and site leaders to ensure that Short-term staffing needs are met
- Serve as backup for site HR portions of New Associate Orientation and
- communicating new associate information to other departments within the business unit.
Talent Development
- Work with HR Leader to assess organization talent
- Drive development planning following the 70-20-10 model for supported customers
Performance Management
- Coach/mentor associates at all levels of the organization.
- Support and lead processes for customer business groups such as performance ownership and compensation planning.
- Support HR Leaders in ensuring all associates are trained in the performance management system.
- Ensure annual performance review process is effectively implemented and tracked.
- AssistHR Leader in ensuring that Supervisors and Managers are provided with guidance and tools to effectively deal with associate performance and discipline related issues.
- Ensure that pay and promotion decisions are tied to performance with consideration of internal equity.
Succession
- Drive succession planning process for key roles in supported areas.
- Assist HR Leader in Organizational Talent Review Process
Total Associate Engagement
- Proactively promote and maintain a positive work environment and drives total associate engagement
- Foster a culture of safety awareness
- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures. Serves as both an employee advocate and business representative, balancing legal requirements, Rexnord policy and practice and business needs.
- Drive and deploy procedures and policies in all areas involving HR.
Legal/Compliance
- Perform detailed investigations of sensitive, complex employee relations matters that may escalate from the site level or that are brought up from the Ethics Hotline.
- Work with the HR Leader to ensure compliance, and claim response in coordination with Legal for EEOC, FMLA, Code of Conduct, Discrimination, Harassment and other legal/policy issues
- Administer policies such as FMLA/Short Term Disability, Attendance, etc. fairly and consistently according Rexnord guidelines, State, and Federal law.
- Ensure record retention guidelines are met in accordance with state and federal law as well as industry guidelines.
Continuous Improvement
- Add value to administrative process by recommending policy enhancements and streamlining procedures.
- Initiate process improvements by analyzing current processes and recommending improvements to obtain greater efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement short/long term HR initiatives in support of the business’ strategic objectives.
- Drive organizational development activities that align with Rexnord Business Systems
Other
- Applies a comprehensive knowledge of human resource disciplines, principles, and practices towards the completion of complex assignments/projects.
- Participate in facilitation of Rexnord’s annual open enrollment
- Administer STD/LTD programs in accordance with Rexnord policy
- Ensure new hires, associate changes in status and benefits changes are processed in a timely manner with minimal errors.

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Business or related discipline is required.
- Two to Four years’ experience in a human resources at the generalist or specialist level.
- Two years’ Operations HR experience
- High level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations preferred
- PHR or SPHR certification a plus
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing
